Video: Last Night's House Speeches

As we told you about yesterday morning, after regular business last night Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-PA) organized members to speak out against the military’s ban on gay, lesbian and bisexual servicemembers known as the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy.

A number of supportive members took to the floor to argue that the policy weakens our national security, wastes millions of dollars and in fact does damage to morale and unit cohesion (great coverage at Good As You, Law Dork and Towleroad).  Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX) however used his time for a special kind of anti-LGBT rant related to the hate crimes bill.  You have to see it for yourself as well as responses from Reps.
