DC FlagYesterday was the last day to sign-up to testify at the upcoming hearings on marriage equality in the District of Columbia and moments ago the Council released the witness list.  269 people are planning to present testimony to the Committee — a full 100 on the first day (Monday the 26th) and 169 more the following Monday (the 2nd).  Full list is parts one and two [pdf].  With three minutes allotted to each speaker, some back of the envelope math puts that at 807 minutes or nearly 13 and a half hours.

On a personal note, you’ll find my name at #106 along with my fiancé at #107.  In this case we’ll be speaking as private citizens and we’re looking forward to the chance to explain to our elected leaders why marriage equality is so critically important to us.
