Religion & Faith Newsclips

While most Americans were enjoying the July 4th holiday, several news sources looked at the always fascinating intersection between religion and LGBT issues.  HRC has been working specifically in the Golden State with California Faith For Equality – a group seeking to influence the debate on religion in a post-prop-8 world.

The Sacramento News & Review look at it from two angles.  First a Q&A with HRC’s Harry Knox and California Faith for Equality’s Samuel Chu subtitled, “Faith and GLBTQ equality go hand in hand at California Faith for Equality.”  Second a story outlining five steps that voices of faith can take to build support for marriage equality.

And finally, Dan Gilgoff writes in U.S. News & World Report about a recent poll showing a high rate of religiosity within the LGBT community.  His story “Activists Work to Show Gays Are Not Anti-Religious” also outlines the critical work being done on the ground to change hearts and minds.
