After our morning check-in call Karl and I packed up Tony (our trusty PT Cruiser) and headed to Port Jefferson, one of the Westernmost points in District 1. One hour later we pulled into the beautiful village of Port Jeff, as the locals call it.

ny-karl_port-jeff-libraryWe had another amazing day. We spoke to over a dozen local business leaders, all of whom agreed to write a personalized letter to their state senator. Many of the store owners insisted on including a business card as an extra show of support. The enthusiasm and excitement is invigorating, and it certainly makes working the long hours and days easier.

In the pictures you can see us at yet another post office, and also working at a local library to process all of the supportive letters and contacts that we made.

Tomorrow we’re headed back to the Western portion of the district where we anticipate another day of witnessing widespread, diverse support for marriage equality!
