NY-anniversary-letter-writingLast week in Wading River, NY I attended a house party in support of the marriage equality bill.  The hosts, Cara and Jenn, have been together for almost fifteen years, and this week they’ll celebrate the five year anniversary of their commitment ceremony.  Eighteen months ago their family expanded to include JP (see below covered in cake).

The best part of the evening was meeting Cara and Jenn’s supportive friends and family.  Each one wrote a heartfelt letter to the local State Senator asking that he support the marriage equality bill, and treat Cara and Jenn’s commitment with the same dignity and respect as other couples in New York.
