VIDEO: Dr. Johnnetta Cole accepts National Ally for Equality Award

Last weekend, Dr. Johnnetta Cole received the Human Rights Campaign’s National Ally for Equality Award at HRC’s Gala Dinner in Atlanta.  During her acceptance speech, Dr. Cole comes out and stands proudly in support for passage of hate crimes legislation and also in support of marriage equality for the LGBT community.

Dr. Cole was the first African American female president of Spelman College from 1987- 1997.  She was president of Bennett College from 2002-2007.  Cole is currently the chair of the The Johnnetta B. Cole Global Diversity & Inclusion Institute  founded at Bennett College for Women.
