Watch the live webcast of the proceedings at CNN.

The Secretary of State has immense power in implementing regulations that to further LGBT equality throughout the executive branch.

Here are some examples of issues that the Secretary of State can address:

1. Reestablishing the United States as a leading voice for human rights internationally, including the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

2. Emergency evacuation for the partners of Foreign Service Officers abroad, inclusion of partners in the travel orders for Foreign Service Officers, and providing appropriate training for the partners of Foreign Service Officers stationed abroad.

We are confident that in her role as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton will work to benefit the LGBT community.  She has a strong record of supporting the LGBT community and our legislation, and scored a 95% in HRC’s Congressional Scorecard for the 110th Congress.
